Major Law Enforcement Organizations Join Public Safety Leaders Endorsing Wolk

Today, Mayor Dan Wolk announced the endorsement of a number of major law enforcement organizations and leaders for his campaign for Assembly. The California Association of Highway Patrolmen (CAHP), Solano County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association and several local public safety leaders, including county sheriffs and district attorneys, have thrown their support behind Wolk.

Public safety and law enforcement leaders endorsing Wolk also include Napa County Sheriff John Robertson, Solano County Sheriff Tom Ferrara, Sonoma County Sheriff Steve Freitas, Yolo County Sheriff Ed Prieto, Napa County District Attorney Gary Lieberstein and Yolo County District Attorney Jeff Reisig. Additionally, Wolk is endorsed by Assemblyman Jim Cooper of Elk Grove, who served for more than 30 years in the Sacramento County Sheriffs Department.

“I am proud to support Dan Wolk for Assembly because he has always made public safety a top priority. I look forward to working with him in Sacramento to make our region a better and safer place to live,” said Sheriff Robertson.

CAHP represents thousands of CHP officers from around the state and the Solano County DSA represents Solano County’s Deputy Sheriffs, District Attorney Investigators and Welfare Fund Investigators. Both groups cited Wolk’s dedication to public safety and law enforcement in their endorsement.

“I deeply appreciate the endorsement from the men and women who are among our most trusted and valued public servants,” said Wolk. “I have always made support of public safety a priority and I will continue to work side-by-side with public safety and law enforcement leaders in the Assembly to reduce crime and make California’s communities safer.”

Currently serving as Mayor, Wolk has been on the Davis City Council since 2011. He works as a Deputy County Counsel for Solano County, handling public finance, public contracting and water issues. He is also the founder of the Legal Clinic of Yolo County, a legal services provider for low-income families.

Assembly District 4 consists of Napa and Lake Counties, most of Yolo County, as well as portions of Sonoma, Solano and Colusa Counties.
