Senate Candidate Col. Gabe Griess is hitting the airwaves with his campaign messages.

Area residents can now tune in to their local radio station to hear Griess’ plans for water and education reform in California.

“We need to invest in innovative technologies to increase and sustain our water supply to secure a great quality of life,” he said in one radio spot.

California’s Department of Water Resources reports that although El Nino is still in full force, California’s water is nowhere near replenished and it would take several years of El Nino to undo the drought.

As the election draws nearer, Griess is ramping up his campaign efforts and will continue disseminating his ideas on how to improve California in the coming months.

“Let’s power the economy by making college so affordable, you can pay for it by working during the summer and accessing three percent loans,” he said in another spot.

Last week, Griess announced his plan to fund education in the region’s most-recognized college town, Davis.

“For our security, now and far into the future, I will ensure tax revenue from legalized marijuana pays for this plan, while safeguarding the health and wellbeing of our citizens,” Griess told the crowd of supporters.

Griess grew up in a farming community where his parents were teachers. He graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy and was assigned to navigate C-130 Super Hercules aircraft after graduation and was later deployed to Afghanistan. He is a board member with the Solano Community College Educational Foundation, Rebuilding Together Solano, Vacaville Rotary Club, and a trustee with the local Veterans of Foreign Wars post.
