The Ajay Dev Case: Why We Need a Court Watch

Why do we need a court watch?: Ajay Dev was tried and convicted of rape in 2009 despite spurious evidence and contradictory accounts from the complaining witness, and was sentenced to 378 years in a case fraught with judicial error and prosecutorial misconduct. The case will finally be heard this October by the appellate court, but Mr. Dev has spent seven years in prison away from his wife and two young children.
