Today, the Don Saylor for State Assembly Campaign announced the endorsement of the Sacramento Stonewall Democrats.

In announcing the endorsement, Sacramento Stonewall Democrats President Jann Dorothy said, “Don Saylor has a record of fighting for equal rights for all. Throughout his career, Don has fought to give a voice to the unheard and our most vulnerable populations. Don has been a valuable ally to the LGBTQ community and we are excited to help elect him to the Assembly.”

Saylor said, “As a proud LGBTQ ally, I am honored to earn the endorsement of Sacramento Stonewall Democrats. I’ve dedicated my life to ensuring that everyone in our society has a fair shot. I look forward to working with LGBTQ leaders throughout Assembly District 4 and across our state to lead on policies that support equality for all.”

The mission of the Sacramento Stonewall Democrats is to advance equal rights for all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. The Stonewall Democratic Club supports public policies that advance that mission in the United States, the State of California, and the greater Sacramento area.

The Sacramento Stonewall Democrats join a growing list of organizations, community leaders and elected officials supporting Saylor’s campaign. Saylor recently announced the endorsement of SEIU California and AFSCME Council 57. He has also been endorsed by Former State Senate President Darrell Steinberg, State Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones, Vice-Chair of the California Democratic Party Alexandra Gallardo-Rooker, American Canyon City Councilmember Joan Bennett, Napa City Councilmember Juliana Inman, Rohnert Park City Councilmember Jake Mackenzie, Sonoma County Supervisors Efren Carrillo, James Gore, Susan Gorin, and Shirlee Zane and more than 50 other current or former elected officials.

Saylor has dedicated his life to public service. Since 2011, Saylor served on the Yolo County Board of Supervisors. Between 2004 and 2010, he was Mayor and Councilmember in the City of Davis. He served as a trustee of the Davis Joint Unified School District from 1995 to 2003. Saylor has also chaired the Sacramento Area Council of Governments and was previously a legislative analyst for the California Legislature.
