Cec-Bridge (78 of 201)-1By Cathy Aubill

I would like to voice my support for an extraordinary candidate for Trustee of the Los Rios Community College District, Area 4: Cecilia Escamilla-Greenwald.

We have Community College campuses in Yolo County including Davis and West Sacramento, as well as southern portions of Sacramento City and County, but we are in need of a representative who will go out into the communities, all of the communities, to meet with folks and help them understand the value of a community college education. Ms. Escamilla-Greenwald will be that representative! I have known Cecilia personally for over six years, and am continually impressed by her dedication to education and social causes, her sense of responsibility to duty, her work ethic, her contagious enthusiasm and her integrity.

She is endorsed by Mayor Robb Davis and the entire Davis City Council, Davis School Board President Madhavi Sunder and the entire DJUSD board, Superintendent Jesse Ortiz of the Yolo County Office of Education, Yolo County Supervisors Jim Provenza and Don Saylor, Sacramento Mayor-elect Darrell Steinberg, school board members from West Sacramento and Elk Grove, and members of the Sacramento City Council, to name a few. Her endorsements are in response to her reaching out to various communities and groups within this large Area 4, listening to their ideas, and demonstrating her willingness to work with them to help increase the declining enrollment at the Los Rios campuses.

I believe without a doubt that Cecilia is the candidate for this job! Please join me in supporting Cecilia Escamilla-Greenwald for Trustee of Los Rios Community College District, Area 4!

UCD Student Urges Vote for Escamilla-Greenwald on Los Rios Board

By Diana Casarrubias

I am a fourth year student at UC Davis. Prior to attending UC Davis I attended a community college, which allowed me to save money on the increasing cost of college tuition. In addition, the community college experience helped me mature and prepare for a four year university. As a transfer student, I know how important community college can be for students of different economic backgrounds. Students such as myself perceive community college as an essential key to help us grow and continue working towards our education and career goals. Therefore, we need to have good representation on the board. I believe Cecilia Escamilla Greenwald is the best candidate for this position and deserves our vote. She often meets with students and asks for our input and ideas on how the community college can serve students better and, we see ourselves in her because she was once a community college student. Plus, she is an Aggie Alum! Therefore, she understands the challenges that community college students face on a daily basis juggling work, school, internship and volunteer opportunities and commuting.

Enrollment at Los Rios Community College is down and we need a board member who will communicate, reach out and bring awareness to the value of community college. We need someone to fight for enhanced funding and enrollment. Cecilia is that candidate!

Join me on November 8th to vote for Cecilia Escamilla Greenwald for Los Rios Comminity College Trustee, Area 4! It is impairative that have local and engaged representation on the board.

Yes.   I have been a fan of the lovely, beautiful, kind and caring Cecilia for many years. Even worked on her campaign in Davis….

We need someone of her grace and intelligence on the Los Rios Board….

Many Davis youth attend Los Rios colleges while graduating HS, and head there after graduation to continue their education.

It is crucial to the children of this town, to have a real advocate for all children and their rights.

And for us parents and grandparents, we need someone who truly can advocate for all.

With the Sac City campus now on the UCD West Village, it is even more important for this town as well as the University.

I was thrilled to hear that Cecilia is running for the Los Rios Board.

I hope you join the many dignitaries in town, and this region, in electing her to the Los Rios Board
