Davis Mayor Dan Wolk announced today that the California Federation of Teachers is endorsing him in his campaign for the 4th Assembly District. CFT joins dozens of education leaders, including State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson, supporting Wolk.
“Dan Wolk will make public education a top priority in the Assembly and will stand up for our students and educators. He is dedicated to reinvesting in our education system, including reducing class sizes and making college more affordable,” said CFT President Josh Pechthalt.
The CFT represents over 120,000 educational employees working at every level of the education system in California, from Head Start to the University of California, and is the California affiliate of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT).
Wolk is endorsed by a number of key education leaders, including Torlakson, Napa County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Barbara Nemko, Solano County Superintendent of Schools Jay Speck, a number of school board members and local educators. Wolk also has the support of more than 75 local and state elected officials, including 21 county-level elected officials and nine mayors in the district.
Assembly District 4 consists of Napa and Lake Counties, most of Yolo County, as well as portions of Sonoma, Solano and Colusa Counties.
