Poppenga to Host Coffee Hour at Common Grounds

Davis school board candidate Bob Poppenga will meet with members of the community during a drop-in coffee hour from 9:30am to 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Common Grounds Coffee, 2171 Cowell Blvd., Suite F, in South Davis. Anyone interested in discussing education one-on-one is encouraged to stop by.

Poppenga will also be walking the neighborhoods from 11:00-1:00 pm on Sunday sharing his ideas, answering questions, and showing his commitment to providing a better future for our community’s schools.

Poppenga recently received endorsements from Senator Lois Wolk, Assemblywoman Mariko Yamada, former Davis Mayor Joe Krovoza, Yolo County Superintendent of Schools Elect Jesse Ortiz, former DJUSD teacher and City Council Member Debbie Nichols Poulos, former Yolo County Clerk Recorder Tony Bernhard, former School Board Trustee B.J. Kline, and former Principal of the New Star Chinese School, Ning Wang.

Poppenga is a parent of two, active parent volunteer, veterinarian and university professor of veterinary toxicology at for almost 10 years. He is one of seven candidates seeking three open seats on the Davis Board of Education in the Nov. 4 election.
